Colección Exclusiva
Morelia takes its name from Morelia viridis, the green tree python. The work does not reproduce the species literally. It translates its visual presence through a dark green surface, scale-like relief and golden reflections that shift with the light.
The mask appears among dried botanical forms. Their muted colour and fragile texture register the passage of time, while the serpentine surface remains bright and alert. Life and decay occupy the same frame without resolving into opposites.
The face becomes an intermediary form: human in origin, serpentine in appearance and fixed as an object. Makeup leaves the duration of the body and becomes a lasting sculptural gesture.
